Our world needs us to be positive in mind

To be thoughtful, considerate, respectful and kind

We're all one big family moving around our sun

It's one for all... and all for one!

LET'S ALL CARE FOR MOTHER EARTH

LET'S ALL CARE FOR MOTHER EARTH

How do we care for Mother Earth? There's always something we can do no matter our age and every effort is worthwhile. This video made for young children, gives ideas of how they can reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink. As parents and teachers, we have it within us to guide those in our care in loving, caring ways. Being an example is one way of caring for Mother Earth and, expanding on the ideas presented is another. All it takes is our time, our thoughts and deeds. As we add our loving touch to the earth with whatever we do, we add to the energy of all life and every bit counts. LET’S ALL CARE FOR MOTHER EARTH ©2021 Lisa Brockwell Let’s all care for Mother Earth. Let’s all care for Mother Earth. Let’s all care for Mother Earth and help her out today. There’s always something we can do. There’s always something we can do. There’s always something we can do to help her out today Mother Earth, Mother Earth let’s all care for Mother Earth Mother Earth, Mother Earth let’s all care for Mother Earth! Turn off the light when no one’s in the room. Turn off the tap when it’s dripping. Let’s all care for Mother Earth and help her out today. Let’s all use the recycling bin and put our veggie scraps in the compost bin. Let’s all care for Mother Earth and help her out today. Recycle our clothes for others to use. From something old, make something new. Let’s all care for Mother Earth and help her out today. Let’s all care for Mother Earth. Let’s all care for Mother Earth. Let’s all care for Mother Earth and help her out as she helps us too, lets all help her out today!
A HUG

A HUG

We all need a hug every now and then! When those we love aren't around, we can always give ourselves the loving hug we wish they'd give us. As the song says "A hug can change my day for me, it's telling myself "I love me!" This presentation offers various scenarios children find themselves in, showing them how they can make a positive and loving difference in such a simple, caring way. A hug is always available at any moment of the day and no matter our age or where we are, we can give ourselves this warm loving hug. We can give ourselves a high hug (shoulder to shoulder) a medium hug (dropping our arms halfway down from the shoulder) and a low hug (folding arms) I do these three actions with the kids before we sing this song. I also ask the kids what letter crossing our arms offers (x) and then give the example of writing a birthday card and after signing it, offering the (X) as a kiss to the person and then I say "Giving ourselves a hug is like giving ourselves or our bodies a kiss as we making this great big X " This song promotes self care, encouraging preschoolers to give themselves a hug when they feel sad, mad, proud, scared or hurt and reminds them that offering themselves a hug is a loving thing to do. "A hug can change my day for me, it's telling myself, I love me!" A HUG ©2012 Lisa Brockwell I give a hug to myself when I’m feeling sad! I give a hug to myself when I’m feeling mad! A hug can change my day for me It’s telling myself, I love me! CHORUS: Hmm, hmm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm Hmm, hmm, I feel my nice warm hug! Hmm, hmm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm Hmm, hmm, I feel my very own loving hug! I give a hug to myself when I’ve done my best! I give a hug to myself when I’ve cleaned my mess! A hug can change my day for me It’s telling myself I love me! And if I’m scared or hurt don’t know what to do My nice warm hug will comfort me too! Then I’ll tell someone what’s upsetting me ‘cause sharing together really helps me!

Ryan's Story, set in rhyme is a picture book celebrating Sustainability.
The story encourages children to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink.
When I read it with children, I ask them to make the bird calling sound of Mrs Crow "Ahhh"
every time I finish reading the page she's on. The kids love doing this!
I also discovered
whilst reading this little story to the children one day,
"Ah!" is what we say when we switch the light on,
giving ourselves the understanding of what is being presented to us at the time.

The book can be printed as A3 or A4.
I have presented it using a 20 Pocket Display Book I purchased at Office Works
and used it in both A3 and A4 sizes in Preschool and Primary School.
